Concept Designer - Lens Production Team (2017-2022)
Client: Old Spice
Creative Brief:
Old Spice is launching new campaign to promote their Ultra Smooth product line and wants to use a commercial spot as inspiration for a Snapchat Lens. Client wants to leverage a few elements and incorporate them to the Lens, specifically the football splitting open, Old Spice Guy playing jazz music on a stage, and the color/lighting scheme from the jazz sequence. This concept was inspired by the success of a previous Lens execution.

Approved Storyboard:
User appears in moody, jazz club-inspired lighting and is prompted to raise their eyebrows to trigger the effect. User’s head splits open to reveal Old Spice Guy in a towel playing a saxophone on a stage.
Client: Yuengling
Creative Brief:
Shortly after the Bear In Love Lens became popular Yuengling wanted to leverage the viral momentum with their own take on the concept. Client wanted to use their eagle mascot as the core animation while featuring the user in a branded hat to promote their online store. Overall visual feel would be informed by style guide provided by client.

Approved Storyboard:
User appears in cozy, autumn-colored lighting with leaves falling around them while wearing branded beanie and aviator sunglasses. User is then prompted to raise their eyebrows which triggers Yuengling eagle to appear carrying a bottle that is dropped off in the foreground. Eagle then wraps its wings around user’s shoulders as copy appears in front of user.
Client: Bacardi
Creative Brief:
Bacardi launched a campaign to promote a remake of the song "Conga" featuring user-submitted dance videos. For the proposed Lens concept we would utilize face recognition tech as the basis for a Dance Dance Revolution/Guitar Hero-style game. Icons would scroll upward from the bottom of the screen indicating a head position or facial expression that the user would match as they reach the top of the screen. The desired mood would be a tropical, sunny vibe that would match the tone of the Conga track.

Approved Storyboard:
User appears under swaying palm fronds in in a sunny, tropical environment. The game UI starts automatically as music plays in the background. User aligns their face/head to the corresponding icon and scores +1 for each match.
Campaign ultimately did not move past pitching phase and so did not launch with finalized game functionality.
